Welcome to Log Your Memory

Kristin RuttenHi! I’m Kristin Rutten & I am the founder, owner and administrator of Log Your Memory.

I’m glad you found your way to our little corner of the Web and would love the chance to share just a bit about what this site it all about and how we can help you in your memorykeeping endeavors…

Too Many Memories, Too Little Time…

Under the umbrella of my home-based graphic design & grant-writing business, Spring Creek Design, Log Your Memory was founded in the fall of 2009 to offer a solution to a problem faced by many scrapbookers, myself included.

With four active kids and a very busy household, I often struggled with guilt in connection with my memorykeeping efforts… or more specifically, lack thereof. As someone with a lifelong interest in scrapbooking, I really wanted to capture and preserve an authentic representation of our everyday life, for myself as well as my children and extended family. But there were simply too many things I wanted to document as my children grew and not enough time or energy to get it all done.

The few stories I did manage to record at that time were typically scribbled on random pieces of paper, a hodgepodge of calendars or a series of partially-filled notebooks that were all-too-soon misplaced, especially when I actually found time to use them in a scrapbook page or other project.

Memory LogbookAnd so the Memory Logbook was born… a calendar-based journal designed with the memorykeeper in mind where all of those stories, bits of memorabilia and other evidence of everyday life can be safely stowed in one easy-to-find place for future use.

Other books and products soon followed, including a series of Weekly Challenge books created to help inspire and motivate everyday scrapbookers; logbooks for specific audiences, such as the Travel Logbook and Baby’s First Year Memory Logbook; our 2010 Real Life Scrapbooking Yearbook featuring the work of many of our fellow scrapbookers; and Scrap Your Real Life, which offers tons of prompts, layout ideas and inspiration based on eight everyday life themes.

Our site continues to grow and change over time, occasionally adding new products and features to better accommodate those who share our passion for capturing and preserving our everyday real life stories. You’ll find a variety of resources and the opportunity for conversation offered through our blog, as well as a community of like-minded memorykeepers through our Facebook page.

Creative Outlet PublishingWhile many of our books are retired after they’ve been around for a while to make room for the new, we do now offer a few back titles at Creative Outlet Publishing, the small publishing company I founded in the spring of 2012. I am also always on the lookout for new product ideas, so if there is something you’d love to see, I’d love to hear it!

As the world of scrapbooking continues to grow and change, so will Log Your Memory… I invite you to join in our journey and hope you’ll let us become a part of YOUR story.
