A Reason to Capture Newsworthy Events

Time Capsule: Weekly Challenge #38… Extended

This week’s challenge was something I’ve wanted to scrap about for a long time and haven’t. I was very grateful for this challenge to get me moving!

The newspaper doesn’t get stories correct all the time. In fact, we usually find they miss details. My sweet hubby is a police officer. Each morning you can usually find him snickering at an article, either about the facts that were left out or from being on the scene.

It often reminds me about how lucky we are to have people that will protect us and keep our streets safe!! I knew this page needed to be dedicated to him and his K-9 Bruno. I found the newspapers I have been stashing and scanned them. I was then able to crop them to only the article I wanted! Next was to search for a great kit.

I headed to some of my favorite designers’ stores to browse. When I found the perfect kit, I knew. That’s when the title came too!! I didn’t go with a template because the size of the articles I scanned. I wanted them to be as big as I could so we can read the newspaper still.

This was a quick layout for me. I think I was excited to finally have a reason to scrap these articles. I had to have a picture of him training. I don’t think people understand the training that goes into police officers. It’s not an easy job but someone has to do it!

Kate LewisI’m Kate Lewis. I live in a rural town in Utah. I have 3 kiddos and a loving hubby. I’m currently teaching kindergarten to 20 little darlings. I love to cook, bake, and read but really who has time for that? I really prefer to spend my free nights snuggled up in pjs watching a movie with my family. Digiscrapping became my stress reliever!! Unfortunately I am not able to spend as much time as I’d like!! So I live with the stress! I also love the hybrid aspect of the digi world!! If I have a free minute, I try to update my blog http://ourdailydilemma.blogspot.com If you get a chance, check it out!!!
