Home Is Where The Heart Is ~ Digital Layout by Leontine Meijer-Tisseur

A translation of the journaling…

“I am a prototype of a homey person. I’d rather be at home than anywhere else. I think it’s important that my home feels right. We’ve lived in this house now for a little over a year and it has really become our home. No more old furniture, but new which we bought together. I am not a person for a sterile house. I love candles, plants and little things. But not too much. At home I am cluttery, but every now and then the clutter is enough and I will put everything in its place again. There’s not much on the wall yet. We are waiting for the perfect photo. It will probably be a nice wedding photo of the two of us!”

Get those creative juices flowing…

* What is the current arrangement of your home’s walls, rooms and other permanent features?
*  Does your home feel crowded? Spacious? Cluttered? Streamlined? Sterile? Just right?
*  Do you plan out furniture arrangements or other major changes before putting them into place? What tools or methods help you do this?
*  How often do you rearrange furniture in your living areas?
*  Has your home been remodeled in the past 10 years? Does it need to be? What would you change?
*  Do you tackle major changes to your home yourself or seek help?

Documenting this part of your life now may help others…

* See what your home looked like while you lived there, as it may have since changed.
* Learn more about the vision or goals you have for your living space.

Other ideas

* Use a ladder, stool or stairs to take a photo of your main living areas from above. This can provide especially interesting results during times of heavy use. Resist the urge to tidy the room first.
* If your home has seen many changes over time, pull several “then” and “now” photos together in a layout, mini album or display.
