Story Board~ 09.28.2011

I have had photo-less layouts on the brain lately. Sometimes I want to make a page about a memory (or to complete a Weekly Challenge), but I don’t have a photo to go along with the memory. For today’s Story Board, I decided to share layouts that don’t have a photo to serve as inspiration for those times when you just don’t have one!

I really like the use of color in this page, and that layered paper in the middle acts like a photo!

I love the layering on this page… those ribbons look like they are just popping off the page! Sleep is a topic that often doesn’t have pictures to go along with, especially since in my house, I am the one behind the camera!

I love that these are phrases I hear in my house too. From a photo-less perspective, having photos wouldn’t add anything that these word bubbles filled with text can’t say on their own. This is a great topic for a photoless page.

I actually found (and bookmarked) this layout a while ago, but I still keep going back to it. I love that she listed 50 things that make her happy without using a single photo. We should all have a layout like this in our stash! It says so much about who she is and there are so many ways the list can be shared.

It would be very difficult to make a page like this, especially before the baby is born, with a photo. I love that she used journaling from the mother and father to answer the question.

All the layers of paper and elements and the grungy splatters in the background keep the eye moving enough that one hardly notices there is no photo here. Using a slightly messy typewriter font adds to the embellishment of the page and really helps the text shine as the page’s focus.

That wraps up this week’s Story Board!! Check back every Wednesday for another collection of fabulous layouts from our neighboring galleries chosen to inspire you scrap your own everyday real life!
