Savoring the Everyday

I think Ferris Bueller said it best… “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Isn’t that the truth? I remember as a kid that the long school days would move by so slowly just wishing time would move faster so it would be summer vacation. Then as I got older, time seem to start moving faster… it felt that in no time I got my licence to drive, I was graduating from high school, and then graduating from college.

Before I was a mother, working is where I was constantly looking forward and it was making time move even faster… when was the next deadline due, where did I have to travel next, what did I have to do to get my promotion in a few years, and always looking forward to the weekend and vacation days.

Then when I became a mama, I fell into that same pattern… looking forward to when he would give his first smile, worrying as to why he wasn’t walking like others his age, and waiting impatiently for the time we don’t have to change diapers.

Today I look at my child who will be 4 next month and think, “Wow, where did the time go?”

Where did all the time go… from the time he was a  little baby sleeping in my arms to now a blur who will not sit on my lap unless he is sick. I realized that I need to just stop and just live in the moment, savor (which happens to be my 2011 One Word) everyday.  I think this is one of the reason why I love scrapbooking… each layout is my way to “stop time” and just enjoy the moment.

Here are how others are capturing those little moments in everyday life that they love…
