    Default Cleaning off the EHD

So, when I got my laptop I stopped using my EHD as much. I had used it daily when it was connected to my desktop, but accessing it through the network was a pain because the network and computer it was connected to were s l o w!

We got a new router last week and it has changed my life! The EHD connects directly to the router and it is lightning fast, so it's like having it connected directly to my laptop. I was looking through all my old stuff (lots of freebies) and cleaning it all out and deleting the stuff I never use.

It feels pretty good to lighten up the EHD. Gonna move some stuff off my laptop and that should free up some space here too. Yay for organization!

I don't have an EHD but I deleted about 10 gig off my hard drive about a month ago (out of necessity...lol)...need to make another sweep through there and see if I can find some more to delete. Amazing how fast I can fill it back up with digi supplies, layouts and photos!

I really need a router for a wireless network. I keep thinking I need to clean stuff out but really....it just scares me how long that will take!

I've been cleaning stuff off of my EHD, too. I've just been doing a bit at a time and it's getting done.

I need to do this too. When I switched to my Mac, I pulled everything off the EHD and on to my hard drive in order to reformat the EHD and use it for Time Machine backups. BUT I haven't done anything with the folder on my desktop that has all those old files in it (which I rarely access either). Add one more thing to the to do list!

I've been slllloooowwwwllllyyy cleaning off our server... I'm always afraid to delete something that I wished I didn't, KWIM? But I made a goal (not a resolution since I want this one to work)... is to clean out my photo folders and organize that better. Right now I have it in folders of year > month > day with keywords of what photos are in the folder... now I'm going through and actually deleting the photos that are just horrible. New rule, if I can't scrap it... I "scrap" it!! LOL! I also created a spreadsheet so when I have CT assignments I'm not spending time looking through each month trying to find a photo of when my son was eating ice cream... *sigh*... need more time in the day!

I've already realized I've deleted a few things that I wished I hadn't. I've also realized that it isn't the end of the world that I don't have those things anymore. I'm willing to trade some peace and "un-clutteredness" for the occasional file I wish I still had. (I haven't deleted any pictures, yet, just other stuff)

Because I am in the process of this, would you mind sharing what you deleted that you missed?

That's a great idea to have a router!

Really the only things I've missed so far were a couple of things related to my digiscrapping design - nothing family related.
