Default How do you do it?

My focus word for this year is priority. I have been struggling since school started up again to balance what has to be done with what I want to do. How do you fit what you WANT to do into your day with everything that has to be done?

I usually don't get to what I want to do until the end of the day. As I start winding down I tell myself, "I can go do X when Y is done. Everything else can wait." So, "I can go scrap when the dishes are loaded in the dishwasher."

I mke sure my absolutely HAVE to get dones are done earlier in the day. Everything else is gravy in my mind and if it slips ovver to the next day, Oh Well. My sanity is important and I need time to relax or I will lose it and that's not worth it either.

I have a lot of time. Especially at the moment with the kids on holidays and only having 1 car. I'm at home constantly and there's only so much housework I can handle each day! So it's kids, clean, scrap.

Some things just have to wait!
My scrapbooking waits until my kids are nicely tucked in bed. Some nights have a lot of interruptions. My husband has been doing a lot of work at night so I get to focus on my stuff. We are trying to find time to just relax and watch some tv. Wow, a date night would be great! During the day, I can't do anything that is for me. I've tried but it is becoming increasingly difficult to focus. My daughter has stopped napping (she's almost 3) so I really miss that hour or two of "me" time. So now when my son sleeps my daughter and I read books together or I use that time to tackle cleaning chores I avoid the rest of the time (scrubbing the shower, reorganing a closet). What I am not managing to fit into my life at the moment is time to write down ideas, or learn new photoshop/illustrator techniques. Someday, someday!

google calendar rocks. I can have any event sent to any email address. so when I update my calendar, my hubby will get a copy. The "all Family" events notices goes out to all family members. No one has bee nable to say thaat they were not notified in years. You want to know? Join my calendar group.

I'm working on the calendar issue. I use iCal on my computer at home, and work uses Outlook's calendar. Meshing the two is the challenge...but I think things are working out, slowly but surely. Thanks for all the suggestions!
