I even bought that little loopy-loop journaling thing from Creative Memories (the blue ruler thing with the nylon loops) and wore it out. Wore two of them out. My consultant thought it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen.
I tell stories---long, complicated stories---because I know that while I have the memory today, I won't always be able to remember that story, and I want my great-grandchildren to read the books and have the stories, too. My family is not big into storytelling or memory-keeping, and I've lost so much from my side of the family, it has become very important to me. But even though many think I'm a little off my rocker for how thoroughly I document my life, those same people tell me from time to time that they are envious that I have all these memories recorded.
