(S)He’s Making a List~

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

I love lists.

Wish lists, shopping lists, even To Do lists. Somehow the act of writing something down in a list is just very fulfilling to me. It’s quick, it’s easy … and it allows me to get whatever is on my mind out and on paper so I can move on to something else. Plus it’s just plain FUN! I can start a list and then go about my day, adding to it whenever a new idea pops into my head. The whole process really gets the creative juices flowing for me … one thing leads to another and pretty soon I am just bursting with new ideas.

Lists are also a great tool in memory-keeping, as I’ve mentioned more than once in the past. Check out THIS blog post, for example.

So today I’m excited to add a brand new book to the Log Your Memory Bookstore … one that is FULL of lists … 100, to be exact.

listbook-cover2

List My Life is just what the name implies … a book of lists that will help you document all different aspects of your life in a way that is fun and easy. This 220-page book includes 100 open-ended lists, plus extra pages to add 6 more lists of your own. Each list begins with a prompt, followed by a full page – front and back – in which to jot down your items. Examples range from basic information (Addresses lived at… Schools attended … Vehicles owned…) to personal preferences (Desserts savored … Fonts preferred … Music enjoyed …) to your hopes, dreams & challenges (Before death “to do’s”… Questions unanswered … Wishes made…)

listbook-interior

This is a book that will not only be fun to play with, but it is almost guaranteed to become a real resource for you. By helping to gather all of this information in one place, it will be a handy reference for you the next time you need to fill out a job application or rental agreement. It will serve as great entertainment in a few years when you look back to see how your hopes, goals, preferences and decisions have changed over time. And it can be a great source of scrapbooking inspiration for those days when your mojo could use a little extra kick. It’s also an easy little book to pack around (or tuck into a stocking!) … just 5.83 by 8.26 inches.

Like our other books, List My Life is available in both print (coil-bound) and downloadable formats. This is also our first book to be available in a version created especially for those of us who prefer to work on our computers – the eListMyLife book is a writable PDF download that will allow you to add to your lists right on your computer using the free Adobe Reader. Once you fill in the lists, the entire book can then be saved and printed on your home printer, just like our other print-it-yourself books. If you’d like to give it a try, download this book excerpt HERE.

To help celebrate the debut of this new book, I’m offering a special discount on the PDF versions for three days only. Enter coupon code: LOVEMYLISTS at checkout and receive 25% off the purchase price! This offer ends at midnight (MTN) on Monday, December 7th. This offer applies only to the downloadable books available directly through our on-site store.

Those interested in purchasing the print version of this book through our Lulu.com store can receive 10% off the purchase price by entering coupon code: HUMBUG at checkout. By the way, this discount is available through December 31st and applies to all of our print products. Lulu.com is also currently promoting it’s “25 Days of Savings” special offer with a new one-day coupon offered every day. Check our Facebook Fan Site each day this month for the current day’s coupon code.

Coming up tomorrow …

A month-long Layout Challenge involving lists … and the opportunity to win a free copy of List My Life in the format of your choice!

Kris Myers Designs

Kris Myers has been digi scrapping for over 5 years after the birth of her children. She says, “I like most people started out in the traditional 12×12 paper scrapping. I enjoyed it, but found there was so much more I wanted to do that I just couldn’t achieve with my paper scrapping. I ended up finding my way into some digital work, which eventually took over all of my layouts. This was about 3 years ago when designs were a lot different. I oftentimes found there were elements that I just couldn’t find while trying to complete layouts, so I taught myself how to make what I needed. Soon I found a new love of designing digital kits … it really didn’t take long. Shocked) Now here I am designing at Plain Digital Wrapper which I have been at for just over 2 years. It’s been a joy, but like all things I found myself getting burned out designing and decided it was time to get back to the beginning and start scrapping again. I can honestly say this is what it’s all about. The layouts. Telling my stories. I’ve let go of a lot of the stress and expectations that come with designing and focusing more on my layouts, and I have found that this has truly brought happiness back to my scrapping. I still design, but I found that my designs are influenced more by what I want to scrap now.”
