Reviews as Scrapping Inspiration

Time Capsule: Weekly Challenge #44… Extended

Reviews seem to be a big thing these days with more and more review blogs and sites popping up around the internet. When I was given this challenge I immediately knew what I wanted to create a page about – my journey to doing product reviews on my blog. I did a little brainstorming, collected layout ideas, looked through my stash for some products I thought might fit with the page I wanted to create and then sat down to create my page. I often find inspiration for a layout just by surfing sketch sites.

But what if you don’t do reviews on your blog? What could you journal about? You could write about a product you had bought after reading a review. Think about how the review influenced you. Think about what research (if any) you do before buying something. You may influence or be influenced about products and not even know it! Ever complained about a product? Raved about a product? You may have influenced someone else about that product, without even knowing it.

Really struggling with this challenge? Write down the last 5 major products you bought. How did you pick which product to buy? Did you look at brands, talk to other people to get their opinions, look on the internet? Are you loyal to a specific brand or store? Does this loyalty influence where and how you shop? Don’t forget scrapbooking products? Do a review of your favorite tool & share why you love it so much!

If you want to create a quick page – snap a photo of something you use regularly and then write a review of it. List what you love and hate about it. List what you would change about it if you could.

Writing a review is pretty easy but if you want some inspiration, check out the following review sites (& my blog)

Caroline BrownI have been scrapping since early 2005. I love to create simple pages that focus on the photos and journaling. I’m a blogger and often use my blog as inspiration for my pages, using what I’ve blogged as my journaling. I can be found at Nightwolf’s Den (http://nightwolfsden.com) and I’m also on Twitter (too much according to hubby) http://twitter.com/Nightwolfs_Den and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/NightwolfDen)
