Please tell us a little about yourself, your family, your background… I am 33 years old and I live in the Netherlands together with my husband Eric and our three cats. I have one brother and one sister-in-law. They have two kids who are my subjects often! I work in a Finance Department and love my job.

How did you become a scrapbooker or memory-keeper? I saw Lisa Bearson on Oprah many years ago and thought that scrapbooking was something I would like. I tried and got hooked.

How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Lots of layers and embellishments. I love that digi scrapping has so much more opportunities to use layers.

When do you scrapbook? How much time do you spend on this activity during a typical week? I scrap in the evenings and in the weekend. Not every evening, but like three/four times a week. I guess I’ll be scrapping for about 1.5-2 hrs each time.

What is your favorite way to capture the journaling part of your scrapbooking? I look at the photo and just say what my heart tells me. Sometimes I rewrite pieces because it doesn’t fit or something… but that happens rarely.

What story from the past do you most wish had been documented so you and/or your family could enjoy it now? I guess my childhood. I don’t have that many photos from when I was younger or they are terrible in quality. I wish we had digital photos back then already, LOL!

What is your favorite source of scrapbooking or design inspiration? I use templates all the time! I love those… you don’t have to invent the wheel twice! I just gives me time to scrapbook instead of me looking at an empty screen most of the time.

What is your favorite part of scrapbooking/memory-keeping? The actual scrapbooking. It just relaxes me. And I love the feeling when you look back at your layouts later on.

What do you find the most challenging about scrapbooking/memory-keeping? I recently started in my first CT and had to start with a school kit… me not having children made it a real challenge to make something out of it. So I guess kits where I don’t have a click with.

How has your scrapbooking changed since you first started? (or has it?) I hope it’s better than when I started. Because they looked hideous! I watch and see others cluster for example and try to copy and use that experience for future layouts.

Please share one piece of advice on how to capture everyday real life memories for others new to scrapbooking and/or memory-keeping… Just take a lot of photos. I was an event photographer, but I have a camera standby all the time now.
