"Around the World" ~ Paper Layout by Heather Topich

A closer look at the journaling…

“We’ve made it a priority to expose you kids to as many different areas of the country (and the world) as possible. We’ll never get to go around the world, but the goal is for you to see that the world is full of love and excitement and learning. All people are basically the same- worth getting to know. That’s what I hope you learn from our travels!”

Get those creative juices flowing…

*  Do you like to travel?
*  What is your preferred mode of travel for out-of-town trips?
* When was the last time you took some form of public transportation?
*  Has the current economy where you live affected your travel habits or choices?
*  Do you like to travel alone?
* Do you have any travel-related fears?
* Do you prefer to plan out trips in advance or play it by ear?
*  Do you travel for work?
* When you travel with others, do you prefer being the passenger or in the driver’s seat?

Documenting this part of your life now may help others…

* Get a feel for the size of your world in terms of how much or how far you travel.
* Hear the travel-related stories you may sometimes forget to tell, such as how you got there and why, rather than just details of the destination.

Other ideas

* Think back to a trip you took more than 5 or 10 years ago. How much do you remember? What memories are most interesting to you? What do you wish you could recall but don’t? Let your answers guide the types of memories you document about your next trip.
* If you travel often to the same destination, challenge yourself to find something new to enjoy and remember on each trip.
