Please tell us a little about yourself, your family, your background… I’m a 32-year-old wife, mom and teacher! I just went back to teaching this fall and it has turned my life upside down. I have 3 kiddos… Jace (9), Ty (6) and Raegan (3). They keep me super busy. I’m married to a police officer.
How did you become a scrapbooker or memory-keeper? I started paper scrapping years and years ago. After a good friend convinced me to go digital, I’ve never gone back!
How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Cluster gal! I still consider myself a beginner because I still have so much to learn!
When do you scrapbook? How much time do you spend on this activity during a typical week? Since teaching, unfortunately my time has gone down. I’m trying to find a balance so I can scrap more. It is my stress reducer! I mostly scrap at night when hubby’s gone to work and kiddos in bed! I get more done that way.
What is your favorite way to capture the journaling part of your scrapbooking? To tell the story basically. Try to cover as much of the details as possible.
What story from the past do you most wish had been documented so you and/or your family could enjoy it now? I wish when I had my son Ty I would have written it down better. I have tried to scrap it but I know there are so many details that were left out.
What is your favorite source of scrapbooking or design inspiration? Sweet Shoppe Designs. That’s all I need to say!
What is your favorite part of scrapbooking/memory-keeping? I can scrap for 5 minutes if I have to and not have a mess to put away!
What do you find the most challenging about scrapbooking/memory-keeping? Shadowing and trying to put too many pictures. I have so many pictures that I want to use and some aren’t the greatest. I don’t want to forget anything though!
How has your scrapbooking changed since you first started? (or has it?) Of course. I think with anything it goes with treads. Stuff I didn’t like when I started, I use now.
Please share one piece of advice on how to capture everyday real life memories for others new to scrapbooking and/or memory-keeping… WRITE IT DOWN!!! Write your story when it happens. Save it in a journal, on the computer, in a notebook. Just write it down.
