I love the casual feel in “Random” by iciclelady with its layers, phrased journaling and scribbly note-taking effects. If you ever have a tough time getting started on your journaling, this is a great technique to try… just start casually listing the things you want to say without worrying too much about sentence structure, punctuation and all of the formal details.
“10 Things You Love at 10 Months” by aurian really jumped out at me in the gallery… first because of that adorable large photo but also because of the clever use of layered papers for the list. I just love how the numbers and other embellishments are tucked between the pages as well as the bright, cheerful color scheme.
Though I can’t translate most of the journaling in “Me As A Woman” by Natascha, I like the combination of “I am…” statements, single words and blocked design with carefully placed embellishments. My favorite part of this layout, though, is the series of photos from birth to now… what a great way to help show the history behind the woman she is today!
I love this travel-focused take on a bucket list by misfitinmn. The whole layout has a fun, adventurous feel, from the playful title to the shadowbox full of destination photos labeled with the luggage tags. This would be a fun first page in a travel album featuring layouts from all of these places… once she gets to visit them, that is!
I don’t know what it is about Star Wars either, but it sure seems to be popular with young and old boys alike! I love the way JenLin featured her “Young Jedi” as the focal point of this page, along with the shots of the various Star Wars-themed items from her son’s life.
Everything about “Drive-In” by SmallMoments drew me in… from the red tickets along the edges coordinated with the title to the centered marquee featuring the current movie line-up to the fun framed photos and embellishments along the bottom. As quickly as this type of entertainment option seems to be dying out, this will surely be a treasured layout in years to come…
