If capturing everyday real life memories through story-based scrapbooking is your passion, our weekly Story Board was created especially for you! Check out these fabulous examples of everyday real life scrapbooking found this week right here in our own gallery…
My favorite layouts are those that capture a tiny little piece of everyday life that you may not even think about recording… but will someday appreciate doing so. “Crazy4Cars” by misfitinmn is one of those layouts. In addition to the fun memory of a shared interest between father and son, I love the overall look of this layout … the gears stamped behind the photos, the playful elements stitched into the tape along the top, the conversation bubble, the acrylic pieces … it all just works.
“2012 Decision” by MamaBee is a great example of documenting those grown up decisions and the thought process that goes into them. Love the color palette, the rounded card look and especially the titlework, which ties in well with the fact that this is also an election year in the U.S. … time of many, many decisions!
I love the concept behind “5 Things” by lynnirene… documenting five things that others might not know about you! What a great way to share a story that might otherwise go completely untold…
When I first looked at “My Faves” by paula, my immediate reaction was “jukebox”… LOL. It fits, though, because all of these great lists of favorites are similar to a menu of choices. This is a great way to capture a bit of your personality, interests and other fun stuff at a particular age, such as Paula did here. I also really like the bright, playful color scheme and nice mix of fonts.
The titlework in “Big Bed” by jenevang first caught my eye (love it!) but I also really like the use of the series of photos to tell a story. The layered papers and elements at the top of the layout is also an interesting design and adds a lot of interest to the overall page without overwhelming the story.
I’m a big fan of really playing up a single great photo by making it fill the page… and “Little Moments” by iciclelady is a perfect example of doing just that. I also love the fact that this is a story of the impact of new technology in the household… as the artist mentions in the journaling, someday their new TV will be considered “old” and it will be fun for the family to look back and fondly remember when it was so “modern”!
That’s it for this week’s Story Board!! Check back every Wednesday for another collection of layouts selected to help inspire you to scrap YOUR everyday real life!
