"Moving Day" by iciclelady

"Moving Day" by iciclelady

In the hustle & bustle of a move, it’s easy to forget to snap photos and document the story. I love how iciclelady saved the memory in “Moving Day,” particularly the use of the corrugated background & lettering, cute moving van graphic and lots of journaling that really fills in the details.

"My 17-Year-Old Self" by Kimberly Morris

"My 17-Year-Old Self" by Kimberly Morris

“My 17-Year-Old Self” by Kimberly Morris totally takes me back to my earlier years and I love that Kimberly took the time to write this letter to herself. The doodling & information contained within the page are perfect for this story and the layout overall really captures that teenage time period. This one is going straight to my “to scraplift” list…

"NEED This" by zachandavasmom

"NEED This" by zachandavasmom

Motivation and what clicks for different people is always fascinating to me, so I love that zachandavasmom documented hers in “NEED This.” The playful collection of all these cool elements just adds to the fun of the page… I hope that once this photographer gets her camera, she’ll do a follow-up layout to document that too!

"Currently" by nikkiepperson

"Currently" by nikkiepperson

Have you documented “right now” lately? If not, “Currently” by nikkiepperson offers a great example of an easy way to do so. I love how each little tidbit is focused by a single word … listening, eating, drinking, wearing… these words apply to all of us and serve as simple prompts for capturing your own current events and provide such an authentic glimpse of everyday real life. Another one for my “to scraplift” file…

"Sleepy Heads" by mom2twoangels

"Sleepy Heads" by mom2twoangels

Awww… who can resist a sleeping baby? I love how mom2twoangels compiled all of these adorable shots on a single page. The cute little framed squares are perfect for this approach and the bits of patterned paper worked into the mix add just the right touch. Almost makes me want to have another one… almost.

"My Girl Mya Magazine" by mistycato

"My Girl Mya Magazine" by mistycato

Magazine covers are always a fun alternative to the traditional layout and this one by mistycato is a great example of one that offers a ton of real life info in a super cute format. What a clever (and easy!) way to sneak in a lot of great journaling! I especially enjoyed the “Mya tells her mom, ‘My room should be more prettier.'” line… can’t you just hear her saying that?? This would be a great cover for a mini-album too, with follow-up layouts to go with each of the items mentioned on the cover. That “to scraplift” file is getting longer by the minute…

"True Story" by Keely~B

"True Story" by Keely~B

As an avid reader, I always enjoy a good reading list-based layout. “True Story” by Keely~B is no exception … I like how she shares her thoughts and reactions to one particular book she read, in addition to providing a few details about her reading habits.

"Go Your Own Way" by KyRainbow

"Go Your Own Way" by KyRainbow

Teens & pre-teens can be tough to scrapbook, but KyRainbow did a great job capturing a bit of her daughter’s current existence in “Go Your Own Way.” The journaling combines mom’s thoughts with a few of the activities her daughter does with her friend… and the images are a great complement to that story.

"Mami Says" by nietis

"Mami Says" by nietis

“Mami Says” by nietis is fun reminder to document all of those things that characterize what your own mom, dad, grandparent or other significant others tend to say and believe. I love the casual look of the journaling strips and the combination of the typewriter style text with the painted handwritten look of the title.

That’s it for this week’s Story Board!! Check back every Wednesday for another collection of layouts selected to help inspire you to scrap YOUR everyday real life!
