If capturing everyday real life memories through story-based scrapbooking is your passion, our weekly Story Board was created especially for you! Get inspired to scrap your real life by taking a peek at a few of my favorite layouts spotted around the Web this week…
If a layout here inspires you, how about giving the gift of encouragement by clicking through to the gallery and leaving a thought or two for the scrapbooker who created it? You may be amazed at how much this little act of kindness means to others.
I love the compilation of somewhat random tidbits in “Disney Family Facts” by andrea4376. There are references to several different memories and trips to Disney all on this one page and the bright colors against the Kraft background really make this page stand out.
Nicknames are sometimes used more often than real names in my household, which is what first attracted me to “Pickle” by hollyo817. The journaling does a great job of telling how this nickname came to be and how it has evolved over the years. This photo seems like the perfect match, as well… too cute.
Another great example of how you can wrap an entire season, series of events or other collection of memories into one layout is “Kickin’ It” by junipers. It can sometimes be difficult to scrap sports memories in particular when it starts to feel like just a series of game shots … this is a great way to counter that. The black background and white font on this page are also a nice effect and help give this a more masculine feel.
Sometimes a photo tells the story far better than any journaling could and that’s the case with “Trotinette” by pimprenel. I love how this amazing photo was allowed to take over the page, with just a bit of dating for reference.
“The Doctors” by Happy Now is another layout that jumped out at me in the gallery, primarily because of the bright titlework against the various shades of green in the background. I love this documentation of a simple childhood pastime, particularly since I spent many hours doing something very similar on our backyard deck as a child. Notice how the journaling is really just a series of phrases. Simple and totally effective.
I’d love to just hop right into “Happy Place” by MizAmyLou. The color scheme, the photography, the detailed yet peaceful arrangement all go well with the journaling. I especially like how she framed the oceanfront photo into the series of smaller boxes.
Several features caught my eye in “Weeds” by sahlink. I like the combination of color and black and white photos, as well as the springy color scheme. The highlighted journaling is a fun touch, as well as the inclusion of the quote at the top. There’s just a lot of fun surprises happening on this page, which is perfect because that is kind of the point of the story. Love it.
How could you not love a page about our favorite pastime? I must confess, this page “Scraplover” by Soco totally makes me want to buy the kit she used … how cute it that?? A page like this is a great thing to have around for those times when you start to feel less inspired or need a little reminder about why you scrap in the first place. Have you scrapped about why YOU are a memory keeper? Now’s a great time…
That wraps up this week’s Story Board! Check back every Wednesday for another collection of layouts hand-picked to inspire you to scrap your everyday real life!
