If capturing everyday real life memories through story-based scrapbooking is your passion, our weekly Story Board was created especially for you! Get inspired by a few of my favorite layouts spotted around the Web this week…
I was immediately drawn to “Boo-tiful Pumpkins” by Julie Billingsley because of the bright, crisp colors of the season as well as the adorable photos. I love how Julie used the Halloween embellishments to really envelope and set off those beautiful images – the entire layout is nicely balanced and really lets the photos shine.
“Good Remembers” by sczos911 captures a wonderful memory … the unique way a child puts together words that so perfectly sums up what he or she really means, even if not in a way that traditional vocabulary or grammar would utilize. It’s the kind of thing we think we’ll never forget but so often do as time rolls along … unless, of course, we scrap it!
I love the concept behind “Top 10 Things This SoCal Girl Learned About Winter” by norton94 – capturing and summarizing perceptions and lessons learned in a new environment or under unfamiliar circumstances. The handwriting on the photos is a fun touch, too.
I like the way nevache summed up an entire collection of memories in one simple page … in this case, a look back at the many dogs she’s loved over the past several years. Sometimes short & sweet does the trick even better than multiple pages and paragraphs.
“Sometimes You Say the Funniest Things” by groovyjellybean is another fun take on the adorable things kids say. Cute photos, nice clean design and lots of white space … just a very appealing “real life” page overall.
I like how Cristina pulled together her three passions on this one page, which helps to show how all three interests really work together. This layout reminds me of a personal journal or sketchbook … perfect for the story shared here.
Every mother has a “Before/After” story to share about how life changes once that new little person enters our world … I love that Brynn Marie took the time to document it! This page may be especially fun for her kids to read someday, who never knew their mom “before.”
I love how the journaling in “Memories for a Lifetime” by bderby is woven in and around the photos and the larger “Seconds turn into minutes” … “turn into hours” … “turn into days” … “turn into memories for a lifetime.” There is a ton of information on this page, yet the text is not overwhelming and there are just enough special touches to really make the whole page feel like a lovely personal story, which it is.
That wraps up this week’s Story Board! Check back every Wednesday for another collection of layouts featuring great journaling, beautiful design, real life stories and other bits and pieces of real life!
