Ready to get inspired? Check out these great examples of “real life” scrapbooking spotted this week in our neighboring galleries…

"From You/To Me" by Rubia Padilha

"From You/To Me" by Rubia Padilha

I love that Rubia Padilha took the time to document the contents of a care package in “From You/To Me.” Not only does this page show the neat exchange, it also captures a lot of the things that are obviously special to the recipient. There’s a fun casual feel to the page, too, thanks to the handwriting & sketches.

At first glance, the design of “Pizza Toppings” by gonewiththewind might lead you to believe it’s just a recipe. But it’s really a comment on a recent experience for this family. Clever … and very appetizing at the same time, in more ways than one!

"Do I Have To?" by slurpeegirl13

"Do I Have To?" by slurpeegirl13

“Do I Have To?” by slurpeegirl13 is a fun – and likely more authentic – alternative to the standard smiling-kid-in-front-of-the-school layout. I love the fun title work and the way it balances out that adorable pouty photo.

"2010 Keepsake" by som

"2010 Keepsake" by som

“2010 Keepsake” by som is a pretty reminder of a technique I always love when I see but tend to forget about using myself … the combination of three-dimensional looking embellishments with the appearance of sketching or handwriting directly on the background layer. Sweet journaling on this one, too.

"First Day" by kaleandkiara

"First Day" by kaleandkiara

Back to school layouts are popping up all over the place this week, but I especially liked “First Day” by kaleandkiara because of the way she incorporated the routine of that important first morning into her page. Love the extra touches of humor, too.

"Love the Moment" by scrappurple

So the big red “X” in “Love the Moment” by scrappurple first caught my attention, but the journaling? I can so relate! This is one of those pages that ought to be printed and displayed in plain sight for constant reminding.

"Almost Sisters" by mommy2blueeyes

"Almost Sisters" by mommy2blueeyes

If you’re thinking “Almost Sisters” by mommy2blueeyes looks particularly “real,” that’s because it is. Though I’m a digi-scrapper myself, I do love the look of a great paper layout … and this is definitely one of them. Love the layering and the use of the journaling strips, plus the fact that she took the time to document this special (and adorable) relationship.

"I Love You Netflix" by pamelacy

Another fabulous paper page, “I Love You Netflix” by pamelacy is a fun way to remember how many of us entertain ourselves in 2010, including this particular scrapper’s viewing preferences. Imagine how much fun it will be to look back and reminisce 30 years from now…
